The New Year
Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you.
This year Christmas was blessed. We had food and children’s dancing and a family get-together with children. We had Christmas Eve services in all churches and New Year Watch Night services in all churches too. Christmas service and children dancing in open air meeting at the Hindu area was blessed. More than two hundred attended. Pilgrims called me to their homes to pray and bless them that night. Children enjoyed their new dresses.
The cost of commodities has suddenly shot up 6 to 7 times and some are beyond imagination. For example, the cost of one kilo of tomatoes which was rs 5 went up to rs 50 and onions from rs 12 to rs 90 per kilogram. There was 21 days of continuous heavy rain fall. Crops were damaged, many houses collapsed and a few hundred lost their lives. Transport by road and trains was cut off because of breeches in the roads. Schools were closed for a week.
The havoc of a mysterious fever causing immediate death is hovering over the land. Many have died.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
My visa expires on March 20th. Please pray for me to get a fresh visa.
We gave new dresses to the poor and widows in three churches and in the Hindu area. Sunday class children in churches were given stainless steel plates and tumblers.
Once again happy new year.

Church updates
Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you.
I had been to Kerala State to reopen no: 1 church after renovation. There were two baptisms and one child dedication on this Sunday service. The roof is made of iron frames and asbestos sheeting, side wells were fully removed and rebuilt, and the floor is laid in beautiful grey colour marble tiles.
The previous whole electrification wiring was pulled out and rewired with new cables. 30 plastic chairs were presented by two church members.
The wife of Pastor John Stepen of the church had lent some 120 dollars, pledging her gold jewels. It is now a loan. And we have to pay back the money. Pastor Stepen and his wife had made good efforts to rebuild this church.
At New Hope Community Church, Dawn E. McNeil, Deborah Houssler, Tracy Malony, Rick and Kim have given special donations. Praise God.
I am going to Chennai four hundred miles away by train on 29th Nov. to 2nd Dec. to buy dresses for the children and the poor for Christmas. Kindly pray 12th Nov. to 14th Nov. I am again visiting Pattumullay Church in the other state of Kerala. Thank you for your prayers and support.
With love and prayers.

Repairs
Greetings in Jesus name; peace and grace be multiplied unto you.
I have shown in the accounts opening balance as nil, because I have made arrangements to clear off the deficit, paying out, from my pocket, selling some of my properties. We brought nothing and we are not going to take anything when God calls us and leave the earth. Jesus said, “Sell your properties and give it to the poor”. Love one another. Praise God.
We have rebuilt the damaged walls of no. 1 church, the roof was replaced from wooden rafters to iron frames, changed the cracked cement floor where snakes used to shelter to tiles, and the reopening of the church will be on 17th October and myself, my son John Edward and his wife go there for the function. We will be visiting the no. 10 church on the 16th to visit the free sewing classes we have started there.
Seven ladies have come forward to receive baptisms, where we have the open air meetings among Hindus monthly.
Christmas is nearing and we have to buy new dresses for all the 35 children and for poor widows in our churches numbering over 40. Kindly pray for the needs to be met.
Jesus said, “What ever you do to any of the poor you are doing it to me.” You are one of the partners and part of this Lord’s work.
Peace be with you

Government regulation of children's homes
Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you.
We have opened a free sewing class in the Hindu area where we have open air night meetings once in every month. This will be an open door for giving the Gospel.
The government is imposing many rigid rules to children’s homes and to run a children’s home nowadays is a hard job. Government closed down many children’s home in our area according to rules. Government has authorised social welfare office, J.J. act office, anti human wing which is a part of police department, F.B.I. we call here as C.B.I. , congressman here we call collector. These people are directed to visit frequently to children’s homes to see they are running according to the rules. To keep the home to comply with the rules and regulations is very expensive.
I am in tight position in finance and I request you to extend some additional support apart from the usual monthly support.
I need your prayers for this. Additional support is not every month, just once a while to keep up the extra expenditures.
I am planning to dispose another property of mine to compensate the deficit. Praise God.
Some children received letters from the sponsors and they are extremely happy. The children pray for you all every day and specially we pray for the growth of the churches that give the support.
Thank you for your prayers and support.

New Grace Yard
Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you.
By God's grace we were able to buy a grace yard (cemetery) for the Pattumalay and Pambanaar church. The area is 5 acres, and is adjoining to the government common burial ground. The total cost is around $2000. The money was a loan, borrowed and has to be paid back within 3 months. My request is any church or individuals can come forward to pay this. You can meet as a part or whole. Please inform me by e-mail about your commitment.
This Pattumalay church is blessed with 3 more new families and Kolikottupothai church with 4 families. Praise God.
I just returned from Kerala after 3 days visit, to register documents for the grace yard. We had a pastors meeting there during these days. I gave my speech to them saying, we have been yard and to build it is kingdom. We are the builders. Almost tears came thru my eyes while I was speaking and explaining them the burden and suffering towards this cause. Everybody broke & sobbed pray for Peace Mission and its activities and for all under this umbrella.
Warden Belcia got married in June 15th and Mageswari who completed nursing course is getting married on 27th August 2010.
Kindly shoulder me and share the burden .
With love and prayers.

Visiting the U.S. April 1-May 18
If God is willing I am leaving
Tentatively I have asked Grace Christian Center Texas for 11th April, Kirk of Florida 18th April, 25th F.C.C. Springfield, and 1st May F.C.C Wilmington. Kindly confirm these to me, also to Kim Vanskee. Vanskee’s phone number is: 513 761 8503. Vanskee’s e-mail is: vanskee@earthlink.net. I would also like to visit Victory Fellowship at this time.
In No. 1 church, one side wall has given way and the structure is in a precarious condition. We are trying to rebuild one side wall and make the roofing with iron frames. This wall will cost $2,800.00. Please pray. Due to water shortage we are keeping the work pending till we receive a few rains.
We also need a bore well in No. 10 church as there is high water scarcity and our cardamom plants are dying. This costs around $ 900.00. Please pray.
We need 10 more sewing machines to give to the poor which will cost $100.00 each.
Hope to meet you soon.
With love and prayers

The New Year
In our churches we all had watch night services for the new year. We gathered at 10 p.m. on December 31st night and had singing and praising and some short message. We stopped everything at 11.55 p.m. and in pin drop silence, prayed for forgiveness of any sins committed during the year and waited on the Lord to get our hands and to lead us into the new year. So, in silence we waited for the clock to strike 12 and praise for God taking us into the new year. After that some praise singing and a message for the new year, and the service ended at 1 o’clock. After that a gettogether with hot tea, sweets and snacks. We greeted one another “happy new year.”
Thank you for your prayers and support. Some sent a special donation to meet the deficit praise God and thanks a lot.

Be of good courage
The blessing word from God this year is Joshua 1 : 9. “There will be instances that we may get afraid and dismayed. Be strong and of a good courage. Wherever you go God is with you.”
In the open air ministry at night among Hindus, last meeting many pilgrims ( Hindus who take 40 days strict meditation, chanting, wearing black dress and growing beard ) were listening to the gospel, and after the meeting was over, one pilgrim came to me and asked me to visit his house. His two sons were also pilgrims. They go to a mountain top god on a particular day to worship one of their gods. I went with him, he called me to come inside, and asked me to bless him and his two boys also his wife in Jesus’ name. They knelt down, I laid my hands on them and blessed them.
We have one girl, Mercy, studying in engineering college, who brought five of her Hindu college girl friends during Christmas holidays. Two girls were high caste Hindu Brahmins. I talked to them about end time and gave the gospel. I took them to our Sunday service and gave a special message, just for them. After the service they jumped with joy, embraced me and said, “Granpa, you have made us anew, the message opened our eyes, thanks to Jesus.” When they went back, they told their joy to their parents and they all thanked me for making their children know God.
Last year I had the most difficult, bitter days with much persecution. Your prayers were very helpful and God protected me from all attacks of the enemy.
If God is willing I might meet you within a few months.
God be with you.
Roy

Happy Christmas
This month the total support is only $1,514.62. Just I am floating without a life jacket, to say nothing about drowning.
You know some 4 years back, one pastor from Australia who came to India for ministry was burnt to death with his two children, while he was sleeping in the Jeep with the kids. They poured gasoline and set fire to the vehicle. All three died. This was in Orissa, a central part of India. The main man behind it was one Dara Singh. Praise God, he took baptism on 14th November under one bishop there.
We had 4 baptisms, husband , wife and two teenage daughters, who joined in our church. They were non -Christians before.
Many asked for my present e–mail i.d. and this is it: royjacob1930@gmail.com.
Kindly pray for the sufficient support for Peace Mission.
We have bought new dresses for all the children and poor, and poor widows . We have nearly 30 poor in the churches and we give them dresses during Christmas.
Some churches gain in members. We need a sound system for Pattu Mullay church costing $400.00.
Thank you for your prayers and support.

Email change; travel; tenth church
I hope you got my previous e-mail with my new address. Someone had stolen my password in Hotmail and sent e-mails to all demanding money. He had blocked my e-mail in Hotmail. Please e-mail me to the new address, royjacob1930@gmail.com. Do not send or respond to any mail on Hotmail (the previous i.d. that is, royjacob2001@hotmail.com).
This month I will be away from 16th Nov. to 19th Nov. to Chennai, to buy new clothes for our children, poor people and widows. In April / May I will travel abroad for U.S.A.
For the tenth church, we have to do some formalities with the government, to get a number for the building, and only after that we can apply for the service line from electric line. This will cost $200.00. In the meantime we need a borewell there. After some months people in that area will run out of water and we can help people by giving water and thereby I hope we can gain some members for the church. Praise God for helping them with water.

October Greetings
We prayed for the special prayer requests received here through e-mail, and hope God answered our prayers.
We will be giving three Holy Bibles in the new field of ministry among non-Christians.
This week’s theme for preaching is Proverbs 9 : 10 — fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. What is and how is fearing God? Proverbs 8 : 113 — hating evil is fear of God. It is life giving — Proverbs 14 : 27, sanctifying, Proverbs 19 : 9, and so on.
This month we will have the annual general body meeting on 26th October. Most probably I will go to Chennai for two days to buy new dresses for our home children and for the old age home ladies and for the poor and poor widows. These are our gifts during Christmas. The two nursing students in another state will be completing their studies within six months. The other two have three years more.
If God is willing I might visit you during March / April / May 2010. It is most encouraging to hear that Sunday class children classes 1 and 2 probably, from Texas Grace Christian Centre, have come forward to give their whole offerings to our children. Sunday class teachers write to me saying though it may be pennies or small their hearts towards our kids are great.
The monsoon here failed this year, but it started raining now for a few days and in the north flooding and many lost their homes and many died. A boat carrying 80 in Kumily capsized and 68 died. Only 47 bodies were recovered. This boat ride all enjoy when people visit us, and five of our churches are in that area. No one from our church was there in the boat. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Nursing students
Ramani had her nursing course here supported by Garry E. Speers and Gerry and is now working as staff nurse in Malaysia and had sent $ 400.00 to meet expenses for children’s Christmas and New Year dress.
It is sad news here that in one state the chief minister died in a helicopter plane crash and he was the only Christian chief minister in our country. The state is Andhra Pradesh, just north of our state, Tamil Nadu, where two of our girls are studying their in nursing course. The state mourns like anything and more than 500 died by heart attack and suicide unable to stand the loss. Many died when they were viewing the funeral and burial on t.v.
The parsonage for the church worker and family in the 10th church was completed and dedicated on 10th August. This month the open air meeting in the Hindu area was postponed to next week due to heavy rainfall.
