Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Praise God for our time in visiting churches, home for the old age, and with children when brother Rick and Kim Vanskee visited us in India. You may get their reports when they return to U.S.A. on 12th February. We specially pray for Janet Bland's husband, who had a stroke, and for Kim's daughter Rebecca, who had a surgery on collapsed lungs, and for speedy recovery. During their visit we distributed the clothes and dresses for poor widows, poor people, and presentation to the Sunday class children. The total number of sarees to poor is 38, sudithar to teenage girls are 5, 3 sets for kids, and 30 gift articles for Sunday class children. Happy New Year 2009

Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. God's blessings were on us and Jesus guided and protected throughout this year. The people, pastors, and families I met last year extended their love and concern over me and Peace Mission. Let us rejoice and praise Him in singing as the time is nearing for His coming. There are a lot of false preachers and prophets nowadays. Let your run be towards the cross and let not anyone take your crown. Hold it fast. Rev. 3:10, 11. Satan knows that there is very little time left, and he is like a roaring lion behind us to swallow us. Pray for Peace Mission: ten churches in Kerala, five in Tamil Nadu, and all the cottage prayer meetings and the 15 pastors and evangelists. Please pray for Vijaya and her husband after completing B.com., here, and now a missionary in Madhya Pradesh. Please pray for Sheela and Ramany who are nurses in Apollo and Malaysia. Pray for Anjala, B.Sc., B.Ed., and her husband. Pray for Vijayakumari, M.Com., B.Ed., M.Phil.; Jeyanthi doing M.B.A. in Coimbatore; Mercy in engineering in Namackal; Tamil in Selvi Teachers training in Keins Valliyoor; Magesh and Saskala in nursing in Rajamundry; and for the children studying in W.C.C., Kavomony, Duthie and Home Church High School, Middle School, and Primary. Thank you for your prayers and support. God was great during the last year at times of pains and sorrows and your prayers worked out and God protected, guided, and strengthened me. God's promise is "I have called you by name, I have redeemed you, you are mine. When you walk through waters, I will be with you, when you walk through fire, it will not harm you. I am with you." With seasonal greetings and blessings, Happy Christmas and Bright New Year. Pastor Roy and R. John Edward

Coming to the U.S. again

Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and Grace be multiplied unto you. It is a tough job to get admission into high schools and colleges for the students who have passed tenth and twelfth grades. Please pray for Kimpetty, Kanimozhi, Prema, Suriya, and Bhuvaneswari, for eleventh grade; Rosy and Dhivya Bharathi, for college; and Mercy for engineering. Balcia is completing her B.Sc. college course. I am praying for a pastor for No. 1 Second Coming Church in the Muslim area, as it is a long bus ride for some pastors from Nagercoil to this area. It takes four hours up and four hours down. We are giving a new house to a poor widow, who is suffering a lot and whose two children need educational expenditure. An earthquake was experienced in the coastal area, and the church that God protected during the tsunami had minor cracks on the wall, but there were no casualties or major damage. Kindly pray for Peace Mission works. If God is willing, I will be in the States from 8 August to 8 October. Contact Kim Vanskei for programmes: 513-761-8503.

The Tenth Church in the Mountains

Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Praise God we opened our tenth church in the mountains on 23 April and all the local and town government leaders were invited. Nearly ten government staff attended and also the local people were invited and nearly 200 people attended. I have planned to open a free sewing class for this church also and it will be started by the end of this May. Please pray as we have to buy a few sewing machines and employ a paid tutor. It is paining news to hear that brother David of Austin from Texas passed away. He used to receive me when I visited Texas and I used to stay with him. He was a pillar for the Grace Christian Centre Church. It will be good if you send a note to my e-mail just to have your e-mail ID so that I can e-mail you the news bulletin monthly and thereby save money in mailing. Already I owe money to the bank. Please pray for the deficit to be covered shortly. This you can find in the financial statement. The school opens in June and three children go for college studies and to get admission we have to pay high donations. Please pray for the needs to be met. Thank you for your prayers and support. God be with you.

New Church Opened

Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Praise God, we are opening the new church in the jungle area. The construction is over and well finished. The electrical work is in progress. The date of opening was 23 April 2008. Please pray. This church will accommodate more than 200 people and at present we have 5 families. But the church is situated close to 1,300 families, and our target and vision is to reach these 1,300 families. There is no other church here. Three girls have appeared for the 12th grade final exam, and if they get through, they have to be put to higher studies like engineering, nursing, or college studies. The girls are Dhivya, Rosy, and Dani Mercy Bai. The higher education will be costly, please pray for the needs. I have a wish to buy a big vehicle, brand new, with capacity for eight seats. Please pray. This might cost $12,000. Praise God we celebrated my 79th birthday on March 29. Thank you for your prayers. Though we are financially very tight, it encourages me when I see your heart to promote the ministry. One sister wrote that she made a promise with God, that whatever she gets in her pastoral service on that Sunday she will send it to me, and I got a check from her for $355.00. Praise God.

Convocation Ceremony

Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Thank you for your prayers, as we could see the fruits in the ministry. Some churches experience more believers coming. There are three in one church who have accepted Jesus Christ. Two of our children had the convocation ceremony, one for a B.Ba. degree, another for a B.Sc. degree. We had the second anniversary in the first Second Coming Church in the Muslim area. We need a graveyard for the two churches in Kerala, one at Pambanar, another at Pattumully. Please pray. It may cost $2,000. The new church construction is almost completed and we intend opening it in April 2008. We can do it in March, but as the schools are having final exams and as we wish all pastors to attend, for convenience it will be around or after 15 April. I am planning to visit you all in late summer, utilizing sky miles earned. Praise God many extended their support for my wife's medical need and I am happy to note some individuals and churches steadily increase their support, and the figure from $68 per month to $230 per month is great. God bless you.

First Anniversary of No. 2 Second Coming Church

Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Praise God, we are in the year 2008. We have started the flooring work, plastering of walls, fixing doors and windows, and painting of the tenth new church on the mountain top in the other state. Pray for its completion, and the finance needed. We celebrated the first anniversary in No. 2 Second Coming Church. Nearly 150 people attended. The church strength is 35, but we invited the other people from all religions and communities and there was a feast for all after anniversary services. This month we are celebrating the second anniversary in No. 1 Second Coming Church on 24th Sunday, and if God is willing we are opening the new church late in March or April this year. Thank you for your prayers and support for my wife and she walks on her own attending to household work. You can see her in the picture I have sent [to come], she is sitting next to me. By March/April schools will be closed for annual leave and children are studying hard, sitting late in the night till 11:00 p.m. and getting up every day by 4:00 a.m. Pray for their final exam. God bless you. Pastor Roy

Christmas and New Year

Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Praise God, He gives his promises and the guidelines to inherit it. Belief, trust, and hope is the way. For Christmas we gave new clothes and dresses to 7 poor widows in the old age home, 17 poor widows in Kolikottupothai Church, 11 in Kottavilai Church, and 24 in Leepuram Church. Also to all children. Praise God. We are giving dresses to Second Coming Church during anniversary celebration in February. We had special services for New Year and Christmas in all the ten churches. Praise God. Thank you for all your prayers and support for my wife's surgery, and now she walks without the walker. I wish in 2008 12 months of happiness, 52 weeks of fun, 365 days of success, 8,760 hours of good health, 52.600 minutes of good luck, 3,153,600 seconds of joy. Peace be with you. In Christ, J. Roy Jacob

New Year

Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. God is so good throughout this year as he guided us through storms and sorrows. His mighty hands were the healer, supporter and made us to walk along with Him. His promises are great and they were witnessed in each and everybody's life. Thank you for your prayers and support for my wife and now after the two surgeries she walks. Praise God. Garry and Gerry Spears extended their support for the medical expenses to a tune of $1,000.00. Ministry is going on well and nowadays many come to Jesus from idol worship. Praise God. We have still not completed the construction of the tenth church. Pray for it. We the staff members, my family, and all the home children take this opportunity of wishing you all a Happy Christmas and a bright and prosperous New Year. God be with you. With love and prayers, Roy

Medical Expenses

Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Praise God for the new church roof work completed last month. Last month brother Rod Young, Dawn McNeil, and Patricia, from love and faith and Open Heaven Ministry, visited us and witnessed 70% of the ministry. During their visit, we gave two sewing machines to the sewing class people in the Second Coming Church, sponsored by Grace Christian Centre of Texas. One girl who received a sewing machine is a Muslim. We also helped one boy with medical expenses for kidney failure, and one girl with her studies. Vijaya, our home child, got married after completing commercial studies in college, sponsored by Arlene McCann of Cincinnati's New Hope Church. She emerged as the first missionary to central India among Hindus with her husband, praise God. We have bought new dresses for all the children for Christmas and we await stitching. We also bought one sewing machine for a Muslim girl in the Second Coming Church. The value of the dollar has come down 20% and it is a painful scene. My wife is sick and bedridden as the bones at the back have completely worn out and need replacement of parts. We have arranged for surgery at the Medical College at Chennai. This requires $6,000. Please pray for the medical expense and if you feel like helping, send checks as usual with a note at the bottom: "Medical, for surgery". Thank you and God bless you. Pastor Roy

John Haines Passed Away

Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. It is sad news that Brother John Haines passed away last month. All church members, pastors, and all children grieve over the news. We pray for Sister Barbara and daughter Madaline to have the spiritual strength to bear this. My family has no words to express the sorrows and their grief is more. The team from the States is expected in a week from the time I write (October 1) and by the time this letter reaches you they would have returned back home. Children are doing good and busy in studying. Due to continuous rainfall the church roof work could not be completed. Even in my place it is still raining. We once again thank all who have generously given and this has helped to a great extent to meet various expenses. The nursing students' second year annual fee is given along with one year mess fee. Also, two of the college students who have completed the college studies are going for B.E.D. courses. The auditor fee for the last year also, amounting to $1,550, is to be paid. Praise God that we are able to meet all these high expenses. Thank you all once again for your burden and concern over us. Jesus said that whatever you do to any of these small children you have done it to me. Thank you for your prayers and support. With love and prayers, Pastor Roy

Please contact Kim Vanskee for programmes. Call 513-761-8503. Last month in Second Coming Ministry Church, built by Garry and Gerry Spears in the Muslim area, we had V.B.S. for children and youth. 66 participated and there was a feast on the final day. We distributed prizes to them and they performed skits, dramas, etc. 20 were Protestants, 20 Catholics, 1 Muslim, and 25 others. Praise God. We started building the compound wall for this church and the money is already sent by Brother Gary. We are estimating to spread coir matting to the Second Coming Church. The tenth church we are building needs roofing, plastering, painting, and flooring and we got the money from Kim Vanskee and Brenda Fogan. As the Springfield team dropped their trip, the money for tickets they have sent to us to complete church construction. Before leaving for the States I have very tight time to submit accounts for state and central, and then school admission, and looking after all the needs of the children. Pray for my trip. Request for prayers

Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. The construction of the tenth church is in progress and has reached the roof height. Please pray for its completion. We had three more baptisms last month and praise God we get new souls for Christ. It is paining to note many had dropped the monthly support. This we can see when we read the names appearing on the list. Please pray as the needs are growing and for God to give helping hands for His ministry. In the month of May I have more travels in ministry and hope God will take care. We specially pray for those who had sent prayer requests. Next month the school year is beginning and children have more needs like books, bags, shoes, admission fees, and others. Uphold us in your prayers. The tension with the adjoining countries like Sri Lanka is growing more and there is panic among people. I would like to have a week's leave to have a calm atmosphere and for prayer. I want this around the 16th to 20th of this month. I am heavily burdened and strained. Please pray. God be with you. With love and prayers, Roy

78th Birthday

Greetings in Jesus name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Praise God I celebrated my 78th birthday on 29th March. It was in the Children's Home and all my family joined me. We had 4 baptisms in the Second Coming Church and these were Kanimozhi, Kimpetty, Palsia, and Valarmathy from our Children's Home. Praise God. We blessed a poor family with a small new house. The family are members of our church who lost their mud house in last October's rain and were homeless till now. We supported a poor family for their teenaged girl for her heart surgery and hope the girl will survive after that. Please pray. We supported a poor lady of our church in the hill area for her husband's funeral and burial. Hope you agree for these noble causes. The three cases are from our three different churches. The tenth church construction is in halfway and it is up to the window level. Please pray as this church needs a lot more than the others to complete. It might touch $8,000.00 or even more. I am visiting this area on the third week of April. The rain has already started and please pray that we complete the work before monsoon starts and that the necessary funds are met. The churches in every place are growing and I get good reports from all pastors. Pray and pray, let us glorify His name. Amen. ~ Roy

Building the Tenth Church

Greetings in Jesus' name. Peace and grace be multiplied unto you. Praise God we have started building the tenth church. The work here is very laborious as all the materials have to be transported by head load. It is a steep mountain and whenever I climb I stop three to four times to take my breath. It is young girls transporting rocks and other materials that they transfer from head to head seven to eight times. The total measurements of the church are 37 feet by 23 feet. Please pray as the cost will be high, but it is to meet 1,500 families in Christ in the course of time. God is great and last month also I visited new Muslim families. In one family there will be a marriage for their son and daughter on the same day sometime in July. They have specially invited me to attend their marriages and asked me to pray for them in their house specifically for the blessings from above. They need prayers. I visited Kerala two times to attend the 11th anniversary of our first church and to attend the pastors' meeting. It is a ten-hour drive and three-days stay. I have to go to Trichy which is a twelve-hour drive and I had a visit to Coimbatore, another 14-hour drive. Though travel is dangerous here, God made it safe. I am a bit more busy and as it is the year ending, I have to be with the annual accounts and submitting returns to income tax office and home ministry in Delhi. Please pray. Thank you for all your prayers and support. ~ Roy
